Would you like to help welcome a refugee to their new home in Missoula? Use this Welcome Kit Guide to gather some of the necessary home items that refugees need for their new homes but aren't covered by their initial placement grants. Refugees spend on average 10 years displaced and few things are more meaningful than entering their new home for the first time. Prior to their arrival in Missoula, the IRC must set up a household for newly arriving refugees that includes essential items. One way community members and organizations can contribute is to donate these household goods which allows clients to utilize the limited resettlement funds on pressing needs, such as rent and utilities, as they work towards self-sufficiency. This guide provides helpful instructions to gather items into a Welcome Kit that will be given directly to a refugee family when they arrive in Missoula.

Your support in cash or in-kind is welcome and greatly appreciated not only by the IRC but by the clients who benefit.  Donation kits are detailed in the attached guide. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, IRC will gladly purchase kits on your behalf. As new refugee families arrive, the kits will be distributed to clients who need them!
