The IRC in San Diego thanks Fox Sports San Diego for their time and coordination in providing our youth clients and staff with the opportunity to watch the Padres in action and to get an inside look of what goes on behind-the-scenes of a major sports news studio. We documented our experience in honor of World Refugee Week in photos:
SAN DIEGO - We spent World Refugee Week with Fox Sports San Diego and were generously provided with tickets for our staff and clients to attend Padres games. Fox Sports San Diego also provided over 50 refugee youth with a career exploration opportunity and tour of their studio.
Fox Sports SD also provided our clients at both of our offices, El Cajon and City Heights, as well as our staff, with transportation to the game in a Padres San Diego fan bus.
Refugee youth and their families also participated in a Q&A session, where they were able to ask questions to the Fox Sports team about their career paths and what it's like to work in the studio. IRC staff provided translation in Dari to ensure all attendees could participate and ask questions.
On Tuesday evening, IRC staff members attended a Padres game in Petco Park as a team building and self-care opportunity.
