Items needed for refugees in San Diego

Last updated

The majority of in-kind donations accepted by the IRC in San Diego are distributed to newly-arrived refugee families to provide assistance during their first months in the United States.

Currently, we are collecting specific items most commonly needed by the families we serve.

With the vehicle-dependent culture that is so prevalent in most of the U.S. and especially Southern California, a donated car can be life-changing for a new refugee struggling with mobility.

Donated vehicles help refugees travel to work, regain control over their lives, and achieve self-sufficiency.  A new vehicle is certain to be the "lift" a refugee needs to move from surviving to thriving in San Diego, and a potential tax deduction for you

The IRC only accepts donations of vehicles that are in running condition and have a current inspection sticker.
