Every Spring Girl Scouts begin to sell Girl Scout cookies to their friends, family and neighbors. This year patrons were given an opportunity to donate money for boxes of cookies to be given out to local non-profit organizations. The individual Girl Scout groups are then given an opportunity to choose the nonprofit that they want to donate cookies to. This year two separate groups chose to donate their cookies to the IRC.

“Our troop choose the IRC thinking that people new to our country might enjoy a cookie. We thought that this would be a nice way to welcome refugees to Wichita” Said, Zoe Tobia, Girl Scout Troop Leader.

The cookies were dropped off by the Girl Scouts and the cookies were given to clients throughout the months of June and July. This thoughtful gesture brought a smile to the faces of IRC clients, volunteers and staff.
