In January, Comcast gifted the IRC in Richmond with 50 laptops to support the digital access and economic mobility of its clients. In addition, a generous financial contribution was included to support housing costs for newly arrived refugee families. Comcast's gift will directly support IRC’s work in Richmond to ensure families have the knowledge and access to the tools they need to attend orientations and job-trainings, search for employment, support their children in school and stay connected to family members abroad. The donated computers will be provided to individuals enrolled in IRC’s workforce programs and will assist them in finding their first jobs in the United States. As families settle in and deepen their connections throughout our community, their ability to access additional services such as career advancement, financial education and coaching services, and credit building loans will help ensure their continued success.
