The Bronx Green-Up program of the New York Botanical Garden has been a key partner to the IRC in NY's New Roots program since 2012. As they celebrate 30 years of service, Bronx Green-Up is being honored by the New York Botanical Garden in a photo exhibit which will run through April 2019. Bronx Green-Up is the New York Botanical Garden's community gardening outreach program and supports more than 200 local greening groups, schools, and community organizations in their greening efforts, including the IRC in NY! The IRC in NY is especially proud to have the New Roots Community Farm featured in this photo exhibit with photos from the Bronx Documentary Center's Bronx Junior Photo League.

The New Roots Community Farm partners with Bronx Green-Up to host the annual Harvest Festival, and photos from our 2018 Harvest Festival are featured in the exhibit. The New Roots program offers critical services to refugees, asylees, and immigrant communities in addition to NYC residents interested in tending their own urban farm plots. Bronx Green-Up provides technical assistance, networking opportunities and plant material to benefit the ongoing work of the New Roots Community Farm.

Congratulations to Bronx Green-Up for three exceptional decades of service to the Bronx communities and the local greening movement, and thank you for being such a valued partner as the New Roots Community Farm has grown as a model urban farm and community resource! Catch New Roots Community Farm in the exhibit at the New York Botanical Gardens through April 28, 2019.
