As we celebrate Volunteer Week, we want to recognize our dedicated volunteers who make our work possible. At the heart of what we do is our strong community that shows up, gives back, and supports our mission. None of this work could be accomplished without the time, energy, and passion of our volunteers, and across all of our locations, every volunteer group has played a vital role in creating a lasting impact.
Our volunteers in Atlanta show incredible dedication through their continued support, and so far this fiscal year, volunteers in Atlanta have contributed over 5,800 hours supporting a wide range of programs that help immigrants integrate and thrive across Georgia. Their efforts span English language instruction, academic tutoring, and career development mentoring, helping individuals build skills for long-term success.
Volunteers also play a critical role in expanding access to essential services. From supporting health and wellness initiatives to assisting with case management services, they help ensure individuals and families can navigate systems, access care, and move toward stability. Many contribute through hands-on roles as well, including sorting donations, assisting at the front desk, and providing transportation, efforts that make day-to-day operations and client support possible.
Beyond direct service, volunteers foster connection and growth through mentorship and community-building programs such as afterschool tutoring, early childhood education support, and peer-to-peer fundraising. Together, these contributions allow volunteers to support clients at every stage of their journey and strengthen the communities we serve.
