As we celebrate Volunteer Week, we want to recognize our dedicated volunteers who make our work possible. At the heart of what we do is our strong community that shows up, gives back, and supports our mission. None of this work could be accomplished without the time, energy, and passion of our volunteers, and across all of our locations, every volunteer group has played a vital role in creating a lasting impact.
In Tallahassee, volunteers play a vital role in supporting initiatives that promote food access, housing stability, and health- related needs for families rebuilding after crisis. This year alone, they’ve contributed more than 2,800 hours of service, bolstering efforts like the Tallahassee Neighbor’s Fund and helping ensure families can stay housed, access care, and move toward long-term stability. Volunteers also assist with case management efforts, helping connect individuals and families to critical resources and services.
Beyond direct service, volunteers contribute through community-driven projects that foster connection and belonging. From partnering with local artisans to create and sell handcrafted goods to hosting supply drives to meet community needs, they turn everyday actions into impactful support for local families.
This support strengthens the broader community by showing up for one another, whether through fundraising, outreach, or direct support. Their commitment reflects a shared belief in building bridges across our communities and ensuring that every neighbor has the opportunity to thrive.
