Refugee youth learn job skills at North Park urban farm

Last updated

Youth FarmWorks, a job training urban farm, provides refugee, immigrant, and at-risk youth from City Heights with job readiness skills. The program provides a dynamic balance of learning and earning. Youth FarmWorks participants earn a stipend selling sustainably-grown produce on-site at our farm, while receiving training in organic vegetable production, farming sales and marketing, job interviewing and public speaking.

Our urban farm is located at 3725 30th Street in North Park. During the ten week job training program, the Youth FarmWorks interns manage a pop-up farm stand on-site - Wednesdays from 3:30-6:30pm and on Saturdays from 9:30am-1pm. Come purchase some freshly harvested produce and let one of the interns practice their public speaking by giving you a tour of our urban farm!

You can find us on Facebook for up to date hours and more information about the program!
