Our community would be a far different place if refugees were turned away. When refugees are welcomed, they shape our lives for the better. In art, science, education, business, community and civic leadership, and more, refugees make immense contributions to our community. This World Refugee Day–and every day–let’s ensure we fight for refugees, learn from them, and do everything in our power to keep our country’s doors open to those in need of safety and protection.

Three ways to take action:

Celebrate World Refugee Day June 20th

Join us for ARTvocacy on Thursday, June 20th 6-8PM at La Marzocco Café & Showroom. ARTvocacy is a family-friendly celebration of World Refugee Day with art, music, and food. More than a dozen artists from refugee communities will share their work and their stories to raise awareness of global refugee issues and to highlight the creative contributions of refugees here in Washington. Free and open to all.

Double your impact

Donate now to the IRC in Seattle’s Welcome Home Fund and double your impact. Donations are matched 1:1 through the end of June–up to $5,000–thanks to generous IRC supporters, Sarah and Waqar Shaikh. Part of being a welcoming community means ensuring our newest neighbors have safe, stable, and healthy housing. The Welcome Home Fund will directly help refugees & survivors of trafficking as they rebuild their lives in Washington.

Sign our open letter

Add your name and join us in thanking refugees for their many contributions to our country. Let’s stand together for a world that welcomes. The IRC will share the letter with refugees in our offices around the world.

Thank you for standing for welcome. #StandWithRefugees
