Welcoming our Afghan allies and other newcomers to Washington will require a whole-community response, and we are working with partners across the state to make it happen. This briefing will offer insight into how the IRC in Washington is preparing to welcome hundreds of Afghan humanitarian parolees who will make Washington their new home in the months to come. Together we’ll discuss our work, what we're looking forward to, and how community can help welcome and support new neighbors in Washington and continue our more than 40-year history of welcoming refugees to our state.

We have already seen an incredible response and support for welcoming Afghans, and are so grateful for the support of our donors, supporters, and community groups. Looking ahead, we are excited continue welcoming refugees and newcomers from all over the world. These are uncertain times for all of us, but it’s more important now than ever that we come together as a community and stay connected as neighbors—old and new!
