We are thrilled to re-welcome Shalaina back into the IRC family as she may be a familiar face to many, particularly in the Dallas office. In her most recent position outside the IRC, Shalaina has served, for five years, as Director of Refugee Services at a local United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) affiliate in Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). In her role, she also acquired two non-refugee divisions that worked with Veterans and one of the largest Disaster Preparedness & Response teams in the area.  

Shalaina started her refugee resettlement career at the IRC in Dallas where she worked for eight years. Her last position at the IRC Dallas was Senior Manager for Reception & Placement and Match Grant case management, having also worked as the office’s Learning Liaison for many years. While at the IRC, Shalaina worked on the "Strategic Refresh" project, and established the Case Management Community of Practice across the network. Prior to her work in resettlement, Shalaina spent six years in various roles in the Semiconductor industry. 

Amongst numerous other professional achievements, Shalaina holds an AAS in Electronics Engineering Technology, a bachelor's in business administration, an MA in International Conflict Management and has fulfilled the educational requirements of a Doctorates of Education in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Organizational Development. She is working to complete her dissertation. Please help us in welcoming Shalaina Abioye to the IRC!
