New York, NY, November 20, 2018 — The International Rescue Committee welcomes the District Court decision today issuing a temporary restraining order on the Administration’s blanket ban on asylum seekers. Today’s decision upholds domestic and international law and provides an important, albeit temporary, respite to vulnerable families fleeing violence and persecution in search of safety.
We urge the Administration to comply with this order and to increase its efforts to address the root causes of the violence and insecurity in the Northern Triangle.
