New York, New York, December 17, 2025 — Today, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) launched an updated version of the award-winning Settle In app, a key digital resource for thousands of newcomers in the United States. The latest version offers powerful new capabilities—including two-way messaging and instant access to essential information—ensuring that newcomers have the tools they need to navigate life in the U.S. with confidence.
Since its initial launch in 2017, the Settle In app has provided multilingual content to welcome and support the integration of newcomers. The relaunched app introduces a suite of new tools designed to keep newcomers informed, connected, and supported, including:
- Two-way messaging, connecting newcomers to our Digital Community Liaison team members who are available to answer questions in seven (7) languages within hours
- A news feed feature, providing up-to-date news about life in the U.S. in five (5) languages
- An expanded resource library, giving access to all articles, videos, and other resources available on the Settle In website, now in 11 languages
Jason Crislip, Senior Director of Learning with the IRC, said:"We’ve reimagined Settle In from a cultural orientation tool into a robust platform to support newcomers’ needs today. Settle In is refreshed, reinvigorated, and ready, with future upgrades already in motion. Thanks to our pro bono partners, Darrell Silver and Kara Leary—without whom this relaunch would not have been possible—newcomers now have enhanced resources and real-time guidance at their fingertips.”
