Introducing the 2025 New Roots Impact Report. Through statistics and stories gathered from the field, this year’s report demonstrates how something that begins with planting vegetables quickly grows into something much bigger.
In 2025, New Roots programs:
- Helped over 75,000 individuals to access healthy food through gardens, markets, and food distributions
- Empowered young people in 6 cities to combat hunger in their communities while building new skills that can be applied beyond the garden
- Supported farmers to grow over $3.5 million worth of produce that fed their families and communities, and provided an income through sales at dozens of local markets
- Hosted over 580 community events and activities that built skills, strengthened community, and increased access to opportunities and resources
Explore how IRC’s New Roots program helped tens of thousands of people across the U.S. strengthen their food security, build new skills, connect to community, and find joy!
