Healing Hands: A two-generation approach for migrant and host Community families in Ecuador
The Healing Hands project of the International Rescue Committee seeks to support the comprehensive development, care and protection of migrant boys and girls and members of the host community from 0 to 5 years old in Ecuador. After the initial implementation of Healing Hands, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) developed a report with reflections and learnings that organizations can replicate.

How deep breathing and mindfulness help Iraqi children
Hundreds of thousands of children have been forced to flee their home by the battle against ISIS in Iraq. Watch and share Arwa’s story. Arwa fled her home in Mosul. Today she attends the IRC’s center for children where she practices mindfulness to deal with the trauma she has experienced. The center, supported by EU humanitarian aid (ECHO) also gives her a place to play, learn and to just be a child again.

Humanitarian and development needs are growing, while financial resources are increasingly constrained. As stewards of limited funds, we have a responsibility to make the most positive change in the lives of as many people in need as possible. We can make better decisions on which activity to implement and how to implement it, based on equity, client needs, effectiveness, efficiency, and quality.
What is the GRACE Act?
The GRACE Act, a bill recently introduced in Congress, could help ensure the U.S. does its part to address the world refugee crisis. Nearly 26 million refugees have fled violence and persecution around the world.

About the IRC
Refugee Girls Envision Their Futures in Oakland
After years of upheaval and uncertainty, refugee & immigrant girls in the United States are ready to explore their path in life. Vision Not Victim supports these young women to envision their future and redefine what their communities and they themselves thought possible. Run by the IRC previously in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Jordan, the IRC in Northern California piloted the program in the United States over April's spring break in Oakland.
