Wichita community comes out to celebrate World Refugee Day
For the second year in a row, the IRC in Wichita partnered with Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM) and Wichita State University SHIFTSPACE Gallery to host the #WelcomeHome art exhibit. The exhibit featured art created by refugees recently resettled in Wichita.

Standing in Community for World Refugee Day: Refugees Lead the Conversation at Arizona Civic Engagement Town Hall
The International Rescue Committee in Arizona lead a Refugee Town Hall in honor of World Refugee Day (WRD) where community members and elected officials came together to raise concerns and share success stories from our refugee communities. Over one hundred community members, including refugee, migrant & immigrant community leaders and 20 refugee serving organizations gathered in the gym of the Valencia Newcomer School.

Refugee Civics Day in Turlock helps newly arrived refugees feel safe
The City of Turlock aims to provide a warm welcome to new refugee arrivals. On Refugee Civics Day, refugee clients and interpreters of the IRC are invited to engage in conversation about the city's inner workings and practical skills like how to dial 9-1-1. Refugee families who have fled war and persecution are made to feel safe for the first time in many years are they arrive on U.S. soil. Refugees from Afghanistan and Syria participated in the activities at Turlock City Hall and reflected on how far they had come since their initial resettlement and what they hope to achieve with their new chance at life.

Thank you for celebrating World Refugee Day with us!
On Saturday, June 19 the IRC in Tallahassee celebrated World Refugee Day. The IRC hosted a live virtual panel discussion with community partners, refugee families and the Tallahassee community at-large. In addition, the IRC hosted a family day at Tom Brown Park. The events highlighted the contributions of the refugee community across Big Bend communities.
