IRC President David Miliband called for international aid reform at Notre Dame, urging donors to refocus resources on conflict-affected states where over 50% of the extreme poor now live but receive only 25% of aid funding.

An International Rescue Committee aid worker (his identity obscured for security reasons) takes us inside Areesha displacement camp, northeast Syria. Here 43,000 people who fled ISIS are crowded into a camp built for less than half that number.  Some 25,000 people are living on one piece of bread a day. Others have nothing to eat. The IRC is responding with emergency meals, which we have distributed to 5,000 families.

Twenty-two million people in Yemen need humanitarian aid as their country's civil war enters its fourth year. The health system has been decimated and, across the country, one child under five dies every 10 minutes from preventable causes.
