In 2022 IRC Seattle started a sewing program called New Americans Artisan Collective to promote women’s empowerment through handicrafts. The inaugural class was launched in the fall, comprised entirely of refugee women from Afghanistan. On December 16th, the program proudly celebrated as the first cohort of six women graduated.

IRC in Garden City collected hygiene and household goods that were given tor refugees resettling in Garden City.

After escaping a trafficking situation in South Florida, Sarah and Lily were exhausted, frightened, and wished only to return safely to their families in other states. The IRC quickly provided emergency shelter, food, clothing, and bus tickets, enabling them to travel home with dignity and begin healing surrounded by loved ones.

Late one Thursday afternoon, a group of unlikely experts entered the IRC in Dallas' office to lay out their plan for conquering the challenge of access to clean drinking water in Bangladeshi refugee camps.
