About the Opportunity
In this volunteer role, you will support the IRC’s Employment Program by guiding clients through job readiness and employment placement services. You’ll work closely with program staff and participants to help remove barriers to employment, build confidence, and create actionable plans for long-term success. Your contributions directly support the IRC’s mission to empower individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome clients through intake, assessment, and program orientation
- Assist in developing personalized employment and self-sufficiency plans, including basic budgeting
- Provide job readiness support (resume assistance, interview practice, and job search strategies)
- Help clients identify, apply for, and secure job opportunities
- Connect clients with local employers, training programs, and advancement resources
- Track client progress and collaborate with staff to ensure effective service delivery
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or associate degree (or equivalent experience)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Reliable transportation
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds
