Location: Hybrid - Sacramento, CA
Duration: 6-12 months, 3-6 hours/week
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Ukrainian Support Services (USS) program focuses on providing case management supportive services to Ukrainian nationals who fled to the US due to Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. The USS volunteer will support case management staff in the field with direct client services.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist clients on appointments and interviews with community service providers (DHA, Refugee Health Clinics, Social Security Administration, DMV, SMUD, ARC, etc.) ensuring they understand the process and required steps;
- Help clients build confidence and independence in navigating local systems;
- Accompany staff during outreach activities in the community;
- Report back to case workers with updates and clients’ needs to ensure coordinated support;
- Other supportive duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have driver’s license, vehicle, auto insurance and clean driving record;
- Strong interest in working directly with refugee and immigrant communities;
- Compassionate, patient, and comfortable guiding clients through complex processes;
- Punctuality, excellent time management skills, and a flexible schedule;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client information;
- Strong verbal and written skills in Ukrainian and/or Russian are desirable but not required.
