The International Rescue Committee in Charlottesville and Richmond is planning for the continuation of its AmeriCorps project at both sites. The AmeriCorps program is supported by the U.S. federal government, foundations, corporations, and other donors to engage adults in public service work with a goal of helping others and meeting critical needs in the community. AmeriCorps members must commit to a full-time position in either Charlottesville or Richmond beginning September 1, 2021 through August 2022 serving in focus areas that include capacity building, education, healthy futures, and economic empowerment.


Charlottesville is recruiting for one Education AmeriCorps member to work with youth programs, one Healthy Futures AmeriCorps member to work with health and intensive case management, and two Economic Empowerment AmeriCorps members to work with the employment team. Richmond is recruiting for one Healthy Futures AmeriCorps member to work with health and intensive case management, one Economic Empowerment AmeriCorps members to work with the employment team, and one Capacity Building AmeriCorps to work with volunteer services.
