A Bountiful Summer at New Roots Tucson
The New Roots Program of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Tucson empowers refugees and other community members to grow their own food for their families and for the market. Many refugees have agrarian backgrounds, and the program allows them to employ their skills for the economic advancement of themselves and their families.

Internship Opportunities in Phoenix
The IRC’s US offices offer a variety of unpaid internship opportunities throughout the year. Prospective interns should be currently enrolled in an educational institution or within 6 months of graduation and are required to submit an application and resume. Internships at the International Rescue Committee in Phoenix provide college students and recent graduates with opportunities to gain professional experiences and exposure to different fields. Interns learn to work in a multi-cultural environment, build professional networks within the community, and cultivate adaptability and creativity in a dynamic world. Please note that most of our internships are in person. There may be some exceptions for specific positions.

Art & Wellness with the Ukrainian Community
The inclusion of therapeutic activities in a community gathering opens up the space for engaged conversations and meaningful connections. Wellness activities can range in their therapist potential. On April 31st, the Safety and Wellness Department partnered with the New York Public Library (NYPL) Tompkins’s Square branch on a workshop to build community and create art with individuals from Ukraine who had recently arrived in the United States. This was a meaningful activity for the Ukrainian community and one that the IRC in NY hopes to do again!
