As one of the phenomenal women around the world who dedicate their lives to protecting people caught in conflict, Ifrah is on the front line of ending violence against women in Ethiopia.

During the 2022 Utah Legislative Session, the International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City worked with a variety of partners to raise awareness and advocate alongside refugee, immigrant and new American communities living in the Beehive State.

Youth engagement helps create strong, community-led solutions to real needs. Youth volunteer Kai supports IRC in Oakland by building a fundraising website that raised nearly $1,000 for grocery gift cards for refugees and survivors of human trafficking. These gift cards helped families access food during times of uncertainty with dignity and flexibility. Kai’s story shows how young people can make a meaningful impact when given the opportunity to lead.

The IRC’s Girls for PEACE group decided Spring Break was the perfect opportunity for a hike. The field trip was an opportunity to build community, see the beautiful state we live in, and provide a reprieve from mid-week Spring Break boredom.
