The IRC in Charlottesville provides Cultural Orientation to newly-arrived refugees on Fridays at the IRC office.  Child Watch volunteers help entertain children in a child-friendly corner of our classroom, while their parents attend class.  Children and volunteers will always be in the presence of the parent(s) and the English instructor. Cultural Orientation is held every other Friday. Volunteers have the option to attend once a month, or more if they would like. 

Location: IRC Office, 375 Greenbrier Drive, Suite 200, Charlottesville, VA 22901

Time Commitment: Fridays 10:30am-1:30pm, every other Friday

Responsibilities: Entertain kids of all ages (parents will be present, but otherwise occupied).

Skills/Qualifications: Volunteers must be good with kids, 18 years of age or over, and comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
