ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

The IRC in Los Angeles's Employment Training Panel provides job readiness training, digital literacy, and financial literacy to newcomers and current clients that hold work authorizations in search of job opportunities. Our Job Fair volunteer will take part of this program by finding and attending various job fairs in and around LA county-- preferably near the communities of our clients. At these job fairs, the volunteer will represent the IRC-LA and our clients to various employers while also collecting current employer information to be shared with our team and clients post-job fair.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Find and attend local job fairs in and around the LA County area (2-3/month)
    • Preferable locations: East LA, Pasadena/Burbank/Glendale area
  • Represent IRC-LA at said job fairs and collect resources from multiple employers who are willing to employ IRC-LA clients
  • Report back to our Workforce Literacy Specialist and provide clients with various potential employers

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Personal vehicle/transportation to and from various job fairs in the LA County area
  • English language proficiency, and the ability to represent IRC-LA well in front of different employers
  • Understanding of different job responsibilities and requirements, as well as our clientele ability and proficiency
  • Self-starter mindset; ability to work well by yourself and take initiative
  • Great communication and organizing skills
