SCOPE OF ROLE: The Job Readiness Training Volunteer will be working with the Economic Empowerment Department in creating, coordinating, and assisting them in delivering workforce development training to newly arrived clients. The role is important to building skills and knowledge that clients can then translate into more employment opportunities and greater financial/professional success! 

COMMITMENT: 

  • Days and times: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm; intermittent availability Monday-Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm
  • Frequently: biweekly or weekly
  • Hours: 3 hours per shift

LOCATION: IRC Richmond office

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Coordinate job readiness classes
  • Develop educational materials for classes
  • Assist with leading classes or small groups
  • Provide training and feedback to clients

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Experience in or comfort learning about fi nancial literacy and job readiness programming
  • Must be skilled at engaging with people productively and respectfully
  • Some comfort working with computers
  • Must adhere to IRC professional standards and volunteer policies including those around boundaries, confi dentiality, COVID-19, etc.
