Location: In-person - Sacramento, CA
Duration: One day of service, ~4 hours - Saturday March 14th
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Neighbors For Newcomers (N4N) initiative is IRC Sacramento’s monthly community donation and volunteer event that provides essential household goods and furniture to newly arrived refugee and immigrant families. This event combines hands‑on service, teamwork, and meaningful community impact. These events occur on the second Saturday of each month, last about 4 hours, and are perfect for individuals or groups!
Volunteers will assist in receiving the donated furniture and other items from the home of the donor, pack it into the IRC's box truck, and help deliver these goods directly into newcomer homes across Sacramento to help families create a safe and comfortable living space. This role is ideal for volunteers who enjoy hands‑on service, teamwork, and making a direct, meaningful impact in the lives of newcomer families.
PLEASE NOTE: Because these volunteers may be interacting directly with IRC clients and/or client information, you must first apply formally to be a volunteer and be background checked; then you will be able to sign up for this role!
