Location: NorCal - Hybrid (Pacific Standard Time) 
Duration: Internships require a commitment of 4 months, 15 hours/week, or minimum of 240 hours total. Volunteers require 3-6 hours/week, 4 months minimum

SCOPE OF WORK: 

This volunteer position supports the Early Employment Program by assisting refugees and immigrants in overcoming barriers to employment. Responsibilities include conducting pre-assessments and intake assessments, job search and resume building, and supporting case management. The volunteer will also help clients address specific challenges and connect them with appropriate resources to secure early employment and achieve self-sufficiency.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

General responsibilities could include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Support the Early Employment Program in assisting refugees and immigrants with employment-related needs;
  • Conduct client pre-assessments and intake assessments;
  • Assist clients with job search activities and resume building;
  • Help clients identify and address specific employment barriers;
  • Meet with clients 1-on-1 to prepare them for interviews through resume preparation and interview practice;
  • Working under the Sr. Employment Specialist, clients pre-screening, intake and job reach activities progress as regularly;
  • Enroll client on ETO, update multiple trackers based on the client case status.   

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Previous multi-cultural experience and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural, team-based environment;
  • Strong interest in refugee resettlement, workforce development, or social services;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries;
  • Digital fluency with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows, and another online platform;
  • Ability to speak clients’ languages, Pashto, Dari/Farsi;
