As the saying goes, “Everything is bigger in Texas”—and the GenR: Dallas Launch Party was certainly no exception! The event, held at the Trinity River Audubon Center on September 28th, boasted over 140 guests in attendance and officially became the largest launch in GenR history!

The Trinity River Audubon Center served as a beautiful space for guests to mingle, listen to the ambient live music of Madison King, take glamour shots in the photobooth, and enjoy the wide variety of food and drinks courtesy of local establishments from across the Dallas metroplex. We are grateful to our many sponsors who donated their time, efforts, and delicious food and drinks to make the night so memorable for all!

The evening culminated in a powerful story from a refugee resettled in Dallas as well as statements from our fearless GenR leaders. The final crescendo to the night, however, was the “Symbolic Auction,” where auctioned items included funding services and IRC programming in Dallas. The energy in the room was palpable as guests pledged around $40,000 towards refugee resettlement through the IRC in Dallas. It was a humbling and extraordinary experience to see so many Texans ready to support refugees across our great state and country!

We are beyond excited for the future of GenR in Dallas!
