IRC’s David Miliband responds to decision to remove Ansar Allah in Yemen from the U.S. government’s list of foreign terrorist organizations

David Miliband, President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee, said, “This is a further, vital, correct decision to bring hope to Yemen’s crisis-stricken population.  The designation of Ansar Allah would have done nothing to tackle terrorism, and everything to make humanitarian aid and commercial traffic impossible. The next steps are to raise aid flows, negotiate a permanent ceasefire, and get the diplomatic process moving to establish a sustainable political settlement.”
