Evidence on cycles of violence affecting children in the home, and effects of covid-pandemic on families and children mean that a lot more still needs to be done today for girls and boys around the world to fully realize their potential. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) works with children at risk or exposed to violence, neglect, abuse and exploitation in over 32 countries around the world. In all these countries IRC and other Child Protection actors work with children themselves, and their caregivers and community members to improve safety of children in their communities. To do this meaningfully, Education, livelihood, Health and GBV actors must all recognize their role in promoting child rights, and donors must continue to prioritize protection of children.
