Location: IRC office (609 East Market St., Suite 104).

Time Commitment: Minimum 3 hours per day on Mondays and/or Tuesdays, between 9:30am and 2pm.

Responsbilities: Applying for ones permenant residency or naturalization requires a tremendous amount of paperwork and documentation.  The Immigration Assistant Volunteer is a vital support role for the immigration team, assisting with making copies of petitions and evidence, assembling petitions for mailing, and maintaining accurate clients files.  In addition, the volunteer will review petitions against documentation for accuracy of information. 

Skills/Qualifications: Volunteers must be organized and have a keen attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks/situations simultaneously in a complex environment. Volunteers must be proficient the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Forms.  In addition, vuolunteers must be reliable and flexible, and have strong English communication and writing skills.  Lastly, volunteers must be culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds, self-motivated and comfortable working with little supervision, and able to handle sensitive client information confidentially.
