Location: Silver Spring (IRC office)
Time Commitment:
Volunteers will choose one of three time slots during regular business hours (9am-5pm) on weekdays. Volunteers can sign up to attend on an ongoing basis week to week. Time slot options are listed below.
- Wednesdays from 1PM-4PM
- Thursdays from 11AM-4:30PM
- Fridays from 1PM - 4PM
Responsibilities:
Work one on one with 2-3 refugees to support their digital literacy education in order to apply for jobs. Tasks might include answering questions from clients about the job application process as well as showing clients how to:
- use email
- use Zoom
- navigate job applications portals (like LinkedIn or Indeed) in order to submit job applications
Skills/Qualifications:
- Digital literacy skills - proficiency in using email platforms, Zoom, and navigating job portals
- Special language skills are a plus (Spanish, Arabic, French, Creole most commonly needed)
