Location: Prince George's county (exact location disclosed to youth coach)*

Time Commitment: This position requires a commitment of one hour per week for six months.

Responsibilities: Youth, with the support of IRC staff and their Youth Coach, will develop a roadmap that outlines steps needed to achieve goals within six months. Pairs will meet weekly to discuss goals and work on tasks based on the roadmap. Sample activities include visits to post-secondary institutions, practice for job interviews, playing sports, and going on community outings.

Career and Academic Pathways (CAP) Youth Coaches will support out of school youth ages 19-24 to navigate academic and career-related interests.

SEEN Youth Coaches will support youth ages 15-24 who are experiencing high barriers to social inclusion. SEEN Youth Coach will guide youth in developing a positive social network, increasing their sense of purpose and exploring identified areas of interest.

Skills and Qualifications: Youth Coaches must be at least 18 years old, have experience working with at-risk youth, preferably in a multicultural environment and have access to personal transportation and valid insurance or willingness to take public transportation. Cross-cultural or overseas experience, language proficiency (besides English), and some post-secondary education or familiarity with application/financial aid are desirable.
