Milianny, originally from Venezuela, resettled in Tallahassee with her family after a period of uncertainty in Colombia, bringing with her determination and hope for a better future. With support from the International Rescue Committee, she secured employment, improved her English, and gained the tools needed to build stability and independence for her family. Today, she and her husband are planning for long-term growth, hoping to open a small business and one day give back to help other newly arrived families.

In 2025, the IRC’s Anti-Trafficking Program in Miami supported over 50 survivors through a trauma-informed, client-centered approach. The team strengthened services, expanded outreach, and focused on reaching male and labor trafficking survivors, groups often overlooked in traditional models. IRC Miami continues to set a new standard for inclusive, equity-driven care.
